The City of World Games (2009)
- The City of World Games: Recreational Tourism Par/ Laurentians
In 2008/2009, Le Moulin à vent Productions created an experimental amusement park entirely devoted to the World Games and Traditional Sports, all in a fairground atmosphere. The park was established for 2 years on the edge of the Val-David/Val-Morin Regional Park in the Laurentians and welcomed families on weekends during the summer and winter seasons.
During the week it became a place for group outings for the municipal day camps of the Laurentains and Lanaudiere. The City of World Games hosted TVA’s morning show Salut Bonjour with host Laurence Bareil in 2008 (July 31st) and the following month (August 16th) launched a fun festival of a new kind: Full Moon Games, including evening, night and morning programming.
In 2009, it acquired its accreditation as Classe Nature awarded by the Association des Camps du Quebec but had to dismantle the site at the end of the season to allow the emerging regional park to increase its capacity for hosting scale competitions of outdoor sports.
