TRADITIONAL SPORTS AND GAMES FROM THE 4 CORNERS OF THE WORLD!
Le Moulin à vent Productions’ collection of games has been thoughtfully created from research carried out in museums, books and through contacts made with clubs and associations who, all over the planet, actively safeguard and promote TRADITIONAL GAMES AND SPORTS.
Le Moulin à vent Productions has brought back games from participating in international game conferences (rencontres ludiques mondiales):
- The fourth World Trex Games (4e Festival Mondial des Jeux des Sports) in Busan/South Korea – 2008;
- Rencontres Ludiques (national meetings for training, exchanges, networking and collective constructions on the game) in Isère / France – 2004;
Le Moulin à vent Productions also sent animators on an research trip to Europe and participated in game meetings at the Embassy of Honduras in Montreal to enrich its collection:
- Gerlev LegePark (Gerlev Games Park) in Slagelse / Denmark – 2010
- El Festival Nacional de Juegos Tradicionales y Comidas Típicas de San Marcos (Festival of traditional games and typical cuisine of San Marcos) / Honduras – 2004
TRADITIONAL SPORTS AND GAMES: A GLOBAL MOVEMENT
Since 2008, Le Moulin à vent Productions has joined the vision of TAFISA (Trim and Fitness International Sport for All), an international association of sport for all. Here in Quebec, they contribute to the objectives of the RECALL / Games of the past-Sports for Today project.
The Recall project aims to reintroduce traditional sports and games into the daily lives of young people in order to address current social challenges, including epidemics of physical inactivity, by documenting and circulating the world heritage of traditional games and sports.
