The City of World Games (2021 project) would allow Quebec to participate in the conservation and transmission of the heritage of Traditional Sports and Games (classified by UNESCO as being intangible cultural heritage in 2003). Le Moulin à vent Productions has been contributing to this global movement since 2004 and developing innovative play experiences. In this context, the City of World Games could be a tool to meet the current needs of Quebec society.
In 2017, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education launched its new policy on physical activity, sport and leisure: “Au Quebec, On Bouge!”. This aims to increase the regular practice of physical, sports and recreational activities for the entire population of Quebec.
This policy is committed to support: “the discovery of activities that stimulate the desire to be active. Issue 2/ Quality of the experience”, “the environments to promote the regular practice of physical activities, sports and recreation among the Quebec population. Issue 3/ Promotion”, “leisure and sports activities aimed at northern communities, as well as the Artist Games. Issue 1/ Accessibility”.
Through its new City of World Games project, Le Moulin à vent Productions aims as of next year to respond in a way to the challenges and needs targeted in “Au Quebec, On Bouge !”.
